Everspin Technologies (MRAM) signed a memorandum of understanding with MaxLinear (MXL) to evaluate memory architectures intended to improve artificial intelligence servers' efficiency and performance, the companies said Tuesday.
The memorandum sets out a framework for the companies' assessment of Everspin's MRAM technology and MaxLinear's storage compression, encryption and hardware-acceleration platform in AI and data-intensive server workloads, according to the statement.
The companies also plan to evaluate market development opportunities, along with long-term manufacturing, commercialization and supply arrangements, they added. No financial terms were disclosed.
Everspin Technologies shares were up more than 10%, while MaxLinear shares were up more than 7%, in early Tuesday trading.
