European Commission OKs Saudi Aramco's Investment in PIF-backed Humain

By

The European Commission cleared the acquisition of joint control over Saudi artificial intelligence company Al-Mustaqbal Lil-Thaka Al-Istinai Co, or Humain, by Saudi Arabian Oil Co (SASE:2222), d/b/a Saudi Aramco, and sovereign wealth fund Public Investment Fund.

The commission said Thursday the proposed transaction would not raise competition concerns due to its limited impact on the European Economic Area and the companies' limited market position after its completion.

In October 2025, Aramco and PIF signed a nonbinding term sheet for the oil giant to take a minority stake in Humain.
