The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency said Monday that it launched the sixth call for projects seeking Cross-Border Renewable Energy status under the 2021-2027 funding framework.
The agency opened the final status call under the current 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, and project promoters can submit applications through the dedicated platform until Oct. 6, 2026, the agency said.
Projects must obtain Cross-Border Renewable Energy status before they can qualify for European Union funding for studies and construction under the Connecting Europe Facility Energy program, the agency added.
The designation also raises projects' visibility across the European Union, strengthens backing from member states, and helps improve investor confidence, the agency said.
Projects selected through the sixth call can advance to the final Connecting Europe Facility Energy funding round for studies and works, which the agency plans to open in 2027.
