Energy markets face a mixed outlook, with natural gas set to rebound, electricity strength easing and oil prices eroding amid shifting weather patterns, storage trends and geopolitical risks, EBW Analytics said in a Sunday note.
Natural gas closed Friday at $2.912 per million British thermal units as September heat supported demand, while EBW expects November prices to rebound toward a $3.01/MMBtu target. Higher production and continued storage injections could weigh on winter prices.
Electricity prices stayed firm as heat and seasonal generation outages supported demand, while EBW expects weather-driven strength to ease as autumn and early winter reduce loads over the next 30-45 days.
Oil reached $106.75 per barrel last week after Saudi pipeline outages, while EBW expects December crude prices to begin eroding over the next 30-45 days, targeting $85.50/bbl. Seasonal refinery run cuts could soften crude demand and pressure prices.
EBW also highlighted rising shipping costs and fuel-market pressure, with tanker shortages and record distillate prices supporting delivered crude costs despite higher Strait of Hormuz flows, while Saudi instability remains a key risk.
