Energy Fuels Says Australian Strategic Materials Shareholders Approve Acquisition

Energy Fuels (UUUU) said Wednesday that shareholders of Australian Strategic Materials approved Energy Fuels' planned acquisition of the company at meetings held in Perth, Australia.

The company said Australian Strategic Materials' shareholders approved the share scheme, with 98.23% of votes cast in favor, while the option scheme received 99.97% support.

The transaction still requires approval from the Federal Court of Australia, the company said, adding it will file its application on Aug. 18.

If approved, the deal is expected to become effective Aug. 19, and close on Aug. 28, Energy Fuels said.

Shares of Energy Fuels were up more than 1% in premarket activity Wednesday.

Smart Sand Q2 Earnings Fall, Revenue Rises

Smart Sand (SND) reported Q2 earnings late Tuesday of $0.25 per diluted share, down from $0.54 a year earlier.Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $115.1 million, up from $85.8 million a year earlier.FactSet estimates were not available.Also, the company said its board approved in August the transition of the role of chief financial officer from Lee Beckelman to James Young, starting Jan. 1, 2027.
