-- Energy Focus (EFOI) announced its entry into the energy storage market through a joint venture in Asakura, Fukuoka, Japan.
Partnering with local firms Meihodo and Euka Power, EFOI has secured a 35% stake in a new energy storage power plant, the company said Monday.
The Asakura plant has already received grid approval from Kyushu Electric Power and is slated for commercial operation in the second half of 2026, it said.
Over the next five years, the company is targeting over 1 gigawatt in energy storage opportunities, it added.
