East Japan Railway's (TYO:9020) recorded a 14% decline in attributable profit in the first fiscal quarter to 68 billion yen from 78.7 billion yen a year prior.
Basic EPS fell to 60.24 yen from 69.56 yen previously, according to a Friday Tokyo bourse filing.
The railway operator's operating revenue jumped 8% to 772.7 billion yen from 715.3 billion yen in the year-ago period.
The company expects an attributable profit of 255 billion yen, basic EPS of 225.85 yen, operating revenues of 3.295 trillion yen, and a total dividend of 84 yen per share for the fiscal year ending March 31.
