Wall Street futures pointed higher pre-bell Thursday as global crude prices softened and bond yields marginally declined.
Tech shares rallied, after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh on Wednesday said he would maintain the fight against inflation, but indicated moderation in central bank tightening practices.
In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.8%, the Nasdaq inclined 1.1% and the Dow Jones was up 0.7%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures traded down 1.7% to $100.66 a barrel in morning trades, after Saudi Arabia was reported to be working to restore a damaged key oil pipeline to 50% of capacity, while moving other crude through Oman waters and ship-to-ship transfers.
The VanEck Semiconductor fund (SMH) traded up 1.7% pre-bell.
Asian exchanges traded choppily overnight, while European bourses tracked moderately north midday on the continent.
Generac (GNRC) shares traded up 32.8% pre-bell after the manufacturer of back-up power systems disclosed an estimated $2.4 billion long-term supply agreement with Amazon.com (AMZN), to supply back-up power for data centers.
On the economic calendar is the weekly jobless claims report, the August housing starts and permits report, and the Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index for September, at 8:30 am ET.
The pending home sales index for August files at 10 am.
The weekly EIA natural gas report logs at 10:30 am.
In pre-market action, bitcoin traded at $76,252, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.98%. Spot gold commanded $4,318 an ounce.
