Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (BOM:500124, NSE:DRREDDY) signed a marketing and distribution agreement with Takeda Biopharmaceuticals India to bring the Qdenga dengue vaccine to India, according to a same-day filing with the bourse.
Dr. Reddy's will handle private market sales, while Takeda Biopharmaceuticals, a unit of Japan-listed Takeda Pharmaceutical (TYO:4502), will manufacture, import and oversee public market distribution.
The agreement follows Indian regulators' July clearance of Qdenga for individuals aged 4 to 60, making it the country's first approved dengue vaccine, the company said.
Dr. Reddy's shares were last up around 2% in recent trade.
