Dubai-based logistics firm DP World has entered into exclusive negotiations to develop and operate a new container terminal at the Port of Corpus Christi, the companies said on Wednesday.
The proposed long-term lease agreement would see DP World design, build, and operate a new container terminal at the Port of Corpus Christi, as demand for port infrastructure and supply chain capacity across Texas continues to grow.
The Port of Corpus Christi is a hub for US energy, agricultural, and industrial exports. The addition of container-handling capabilities is expected to diversify its cargo operations and create opportunities for businesses in Texas.
The negotiation period will focus on terminal design, capacity planning, and investment arrangements. Financial terms of the proposed development were not disclosed.
