Dongfeng and Stellantis will jointly produce Peugeot and Jeep-branded vehicles in China as part of the expansion of their 34-year partnership, Stellantis said in a Friday news release.
The Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile joint venture will produce two all-new Peugeot-branded new energy vehicles from 2027 at its plant in Wuhan, China.
The JV will also produce Jeep-branded off-road new energy vehicles for worldwide distribution starting in 2027.
The project will see an investment of more than 8 billion yuan, equivalent to about $1 billion, of which Stellantis will contribute 130 million euros, Stellantis said.
Dongfeng Group's listed subsidiaries include DongFeng Automobile (SHA:600006).
