Domino's Pizza Enterprises to Appeal Class Action Judgment in Worker Underpayment Case

Domino's Pizza Enterprises (ASX:DMP) plans to appeal a court decision ordering the company to pay AU$11,869 plus interest to Riley Gall, a former Domino's delivery driver, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

In July, Australia's Federal Court ruled that the company misled franchisees by asking them to underpay thousands of delivery drivers and in-store staff under obsolete employment agreements that did not include key entitlements.

A judge made the payment orders on Aug. 3 and also ruled that Domino's should cover Gall's legal costs.

"Domino's is currently seeking agreement, and will consider applying for an order if required, to stay the costs order until the determination of the appeal," it said.

The company's potential wider exposure to alleged group members is currently uncertain and unquantifiable, it said.

MN Holdings Arm's MoU with China State Construction Engineering Expires on Completion of Term

MN Holdings (KLSE:MNHLDG) said a memorandum of understanding between its wholly-owned subsidiary MN Power Transmission (MNPTSB) and China State Construction Engineering has expired upon completion of its term on Aug. 6, according to a Friday filing to the Malaysian stock exchange.The MoU, which came into effect on Aug. 7, 2024, for a term of two years, was aimed at collaboration in procuring, developing, and undertaking any proposed projects, especially in the power industry.Under the pact, the two companies would target customers in the data center, solar, and independent power plant sectors throughout Malaysia. The deal also aimed to expand the companies in other ASEAN countries.The company's shares were up nearly 1% in recent trade.
