Disco (TYO:6146) posted a 44% year over year increase in net income for the fiscal first quarter to 34.2 billion yen from 23.8 billion yen a year earlier.
The machinery maker's net income per share was 315.51 yen, compared with 219.23 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Thursday.
Net sales jumped 27% to 114.3 billion yen from 89.9 billion yen for the three months ended June 30.
For the first half ending Sept. 30, Disco expects net income of 73.8 billion yen, net income per share of 680.39 yen and net sales of 242.8 billion yen.
The company plans to pay a second quarter dividend of 171 yen per share.
