No direct talks or meetings are scheduled between the representatives of US and Iran in Doha over the coming days despite the presence of US envoys in the city, according to multiple media outlets on Tuesday, citing a spokesman for Qatar's Foreign Ministry.
US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, who are in Doha, are expected to meet with mediators and deliberate on the progress of negotiations, the spokesman said.
According to the official, progress in talks between Tehran and Washington will determine the issue of frozen Iranian funds.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran has requested a meeting with US in Doha, contradicting a claim earlier in the day by an Iranian official who reportedly refuted any plans of a meeting between the two countries this week.
