Delfin Midstream issued a Limited Notice to Proceed to Siemens Energy for long-lead equipment for its second floating LNG vessel in Louisiana, the company said on Wednesday.
The agreement covers the procurement of critical components, including four gas turbines and mixed-refrigerant compressors, as per the statement.
Simultaneously, MidOcean Energy has agreed to acquire up to a 50% stake in the project, targeting a final investment decision by year-end 2026, it said.
The two companies are also collaborating on pre-development work for a potential third vessel, FLNG3, it added.
According to the company FLNG2 facility will utilize the same design as Delfin's FLNG1, which reached FID in June 2026, to optimize construction timelines and cost efficiency.
Once operational, the FLNG2 vessel is expected to have a nameplate capacity of 4.4 million tonnes per annum, according to the statement.
It will be moored offshore Louisiana and connected to existing pipeline infrastructure at the Delfin Deepwater Port.
Following a positive FID, the project will transition to a Full Notice to Proceed, initiating the primary engineering and construction phase, the company noted.
