Dateline Resources Says Managing Director's Media Comments Did Not Breach Listing Rules; Shares Rise 7%

By

Dateline Resources (ASX:DTR) said it is in compliance with listing rules after the Australian Securities Exchange raised questions over its disclosures related to US court proceedings, according to a Wednesday filing with the bourse.

The company acknowledged that its managing director provided comments to the NY Post and made a short post on social media related to a court ruling before the release of the official disclosure to the markets on Aug. 12.

However, Dateline is confident that it complied with listing rules as its shares were suspended from quotation when the comment was provided to the NY Post and the social media post was made, meaning its shares could not be traded based on that information, per the filing.

The official statement was released after Dateline was able to more adequately assess the probable impact of the ruling, which required the company to halt operations at the Colosseum project until either a preliminary injunction is lifted or a final judgment is delivered in relation to the National Parks Conservation Association proceedings.

Dateline Resources shares rose 7% in recent Wednesday trade.
