Dana Gas (PJSC) confirmed the suspension of its main production facilities at the Khor Mor gas field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
In a formal market disclosure issued Thursday, the company cited "credible security threats" and the escalation of regional hostilities as the primary reasons for the shutdown, noting "Khor Mor main production facilities are being shut down."
The suspension had an immediate impact on the region's energy supply, with the Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Electricity reportedly confirming a reduction in power generation capacity by 2,500 megawatts.
Khor Mor serves as the primary source of natural gas for power stations in the region, making it a critical asset for electricity production.
Dana Gas stated that it is actively monitoring the security situation in close coordination with local authorities in Sulaymaniyah, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the Iraqi federal government.
