Daiwa Securities' Unit Partners with Main Sequence Partner to Launch Japan-Australia Deep Tech Fund

Daiwa Securities' (TYO: 8601) unit Daiwa Corp. Investment and Main Sequence Ventures established the Sakura Fund, a growth fund targeting Australian deep tech companies from Series B onward, according to a Wednesday Tokyo Stock Exchange filing.

The fund aims to connect Australian technology startups with Japanese industrial networks in sectors including space, clean energy, and healthcare.

Daiwa Corp. Investment established the vehicle with Main Sequence acting as fund manager, with further details to be determined as discussions with investors progress.
