Dai-ichi Life (TYO:8750) posted a 368% year-over-year rise in net income attributable to shareholders of the parent to 160.1 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 34.2 billion yen.
The life insurer's net income per share increased to 44.44 yen from 9.31 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Friday.
Ordinary revenues jumped 25% to 2.9 trillion yen from 2.3 trillion yen in the year-ago period.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company forecasts an attributable profit of 513 billion yen, net income per share of 142.44 yen, and ordinary revenues of 10.7 trillion yen.
The company plans to pay a second quarter-end dividend of 36 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
