Cygnus Metals (ASX:CY5) said the independent expert for Central Asia Metals' proposed acquisition of Cygnus continues to hold a positive opinion on the deal following the release of the companies' latest financial results, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The independent expert, Grant Thornton Corporate Finance, still believes the scheme of arrangement is in the best interests of Cygnus shareholders.
Cygnus directors recommend that shareholders vote in favor of the transaction in the absence of a superior proposal.
In a separate same-day filing, Cygnus said Central Asia Metals received conditional approval to list its shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange, including the new shares that will be issued to Cygnus shareholders as consideration for the deal.
