Cygnus Metals' Central Asia Metals Deal Court Hearing Adjourned

Cygnus Metals (ASX:CY5) said the Supreme Court of Western Australia has adjourned the second court hearing for its proposed acquisition by Central Asia Metals to Oct. 14 from Sept. 23, with regulatory approval in Kazakhstan still outstanding, according to an Australian bourse filing on Wednesday after market hours.

Central Asia Metals remains confident that the required approval will be obtained and has informed the company that it expects the approval to be granted by Oct. 12, per the filing.

The revised timetable sets Oct. 15 as the scheme's effective date, Oct. 19 as the record date, and Oct. 27 as the implementation date, the filing added.

Carimin Petroleum Raises Stake in Sealink International to 25.3%

Carimin Petroleum (KLSE:CARIMIN) acquired a 5.8% stake in Sealink International (KLSE:SEALINK) for 9.9 million ringgit in cash, according to a Tuesday filing with Bursa Malaysia.The acquisition involved 29.1 million shares bought at 0.34 ringgit each, between Sept. 18 and Sept. 22.Following the acquisition, Carimin's stake in Sealink rose to 25.3% from 19.5%, making Sealink an associate company.Carimin Petroleum said the acquisition was part of its ongoing investment strategy.The deal was funded through internally generated funds and does not require shareholder or regulatory approval, the filing said.
