CXMT Closes IPO Books After Raising 58 Billion Yuan

By

ChangXin Memory Technologies (SHA:688825) or CXMT has completed the subscription process for its initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market board, according to a bourse filing on Wednesday.

The chipmaker priced its offering at 8.66 yuan per share, raising 57.9 billion yuan.

The offering consists of 6,688,088,608 shares, representing 10% of the company's share capital.

To meet strong demand, CXMT granted a 15% overallotment option to its lead underwriter, China International Capital (SHA:601995, HKG:3908) or CICC. If fully exercised, the total offering will expand to 7,691,301,608 shares, or 11.33% of CXMT's share capital post-IPO.

The company noted that the retail portion of the offering was oversubscribed by 243.93 times, prompting the company and the underwriters to activate the clawback mechanism to adjust the scale of the offering.

The IPO marks the second-largest in China's history, next to Agricultural Bank of China's (SHA:601288, HKG:1288) 68.5 billion yuan IPO in 2010, according to Bloomberg.
