CSPC Pharmaceutical Group (HKG:1093) and AstraZeneca have agreed to establish a joint venture to build a new-generation biologics manufacturing facility in Shijiazhuang, China, as part of their strategic collaboration.
Under the agreement, CSPC will hold a 51% stake in the JV, while AstraZeneca will own the remaining 49%. The two companies will jointly manage the construction and operations of the facility.
The JV will initially focus on manufacturing and supplying agreed biologic drug substances for global markets, with potential to expand its product scope as capacity and demand grow. The agreement remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
