CSL Secures US Agreements to Cut Medicine Costs, Expand Manufacturing

By

CSL (ASX:CSL) has entered agreements with the US Administration to lower medicine costs and expand its manufacturing footprint in the US, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The company will provide Medicaid access to its medicines at prices comparable to those in other developed countries and extend similar pricing to newly launched therapies for all US payers under an agreement with the US Department of Health and Human Services, per the filing.

The company has also entered into an onshoring agreement with the US Department of Commerce for its planned $1.5 billion expansion in Kankakee, Illinois, aimed at increasing production of plasma-derived therapies, the filing said.

The company said the agreements are not expected to materially affect fiscal 2027 financial results, while providing greater certainty over US drug pricing and potential Section 232 tariff exposure, the filing added.
