CSL (ASX:CSL) will conduct clinical trial work to confirm the efficacy and safety of immunoglobulin manufactured using its Horizon 2 process, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The company said it expects clinical activities to start in mid-2027.
The process enables greater production of immunoglobulin from the same base amount of plasma, per the filing.
The company said it will obtain clinical evidence to support and finalize regulatory approval processes for Horizon 2 after its engagements with the US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency.
CSL's shares rose nearly 6% in recent trading on Wednesday.
