Shares of Critical Metals and two companies with interests in Greenland were higher pre-bell Monday after US President Donald Trump announced a security agreement involving the US, Denmark and Greenland.
Greenland Energy (GLND) shares soared 149%, Greenland Mines (GRML) rose 72% and Critical Metals (CRML) gained 32% in premarket trade.
The agreement gives the US "permanent control" over security and other needs in Greenland and prevents US adversaries from establishing military bases, maintaining a military presence or making sensitive investments without US approval, Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Separately, Greenland Mines welcomed the agreement saying it reinforces the strategic importance of Greenland. The company has two major assets in Greenland, including the Sarfartoq rare earths project and Skaergaard palladium-platinum-gold and vanadium project.
