CRH (CRH) has de-rated over 30% year-to-date despite more resilient earnings than almost every other construction stock, UBS Securities said in a report Tuesday.
The report pointed to likely drivers including concerns over US cement demand, infrastructure funding cliff, uncomfortably high rates and some skepticism on recent M&A.
Following the decline, the note said the shares are trading below implied sum-of-the-parts value, offering a rare opportunity to buy into one of the sector's "best" value compounders.
"CRH has higher earnings growth, more margin expansion and superior ROIC vs peers, and the gaps in these metrics have been expanding in recent years," the report said.
UBS kept its buy rating on CRH while lowering its price target to $135 from $147, mainly to reflect lower peer multiples.
