China Resources Double-Crane Pharmaceutical (SHA:600062) received the first installment of $15 million from U.S. firm Lantheus Medical Imaging after the latter repurchased the rights and interest related to its ultrasound imaging agent brand, Definity, according to a Shanghai bourse filing on Thursday.
The amount was half of the agreed consideration of $30 million.
In 2012, the Chinese pharmaceutical company agreed to be China's exclusive distributor of Definity, but the deal was terminated on June 16 as Lantheus retrieved the rights for the product.
Definity has not generated any commercial sales after being registered with the Chinese drug regulator in 2022 and 2025.
