Core Lithium Produces First Spodumene Concentrate at Northern Territory Plant

Core Lithium (ASX:CXO) produced its first spodumene concentrate from the recommissioned Finniss processing plant, marking a key milestone in the staged restart of its Finniss lithium operation, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The restart remains on schedule, with first concentrate expected within six months of the final investment decision, in line with the September target, per the filing.

The company expects processing capacity to increase by around 20% to 1.2 million tonnes per year following targeted plant upgrades, with commissioning and optimization continuing toward sustained production, the filing said.

The company is targeting its first shipment of newly produced concentrate in the December quarter, with production expected to continue through 2027, the filing added.
