Cooper's (COO) "disappointing" Q3 and conclusion of a strategic review to retain CooperSurgical cross out main driver for an upside, UBS Securities said in a note emailed Thursday.
The strategic review, launched in December 2025, included an evaluation of CooperSurgical's potential sale, and management ultimately concluded that continued ownership of the business was in shareholders' best interests, the company said Wednesday.
Cooper is now shifting focus toward $2 billion to $3 billion of buybacks and cash-flow generation.
Cooper's Q3 print reflected stagnant growth across the business and unfavorable contact lens inventory dynamics, which will continue in Q4, UBS said.
UBS lowered its 2026 revenue estimate to $4.24 billion from $4.31 billion and EPS estimate to $4.51 from $4.60.
UBS maintained its neutral rating and lowered its price target to $66 from $75.
