Contel Technology Gets Waiver After Public Float Falls Below 25%

Contel Technology (HKG:1912) said the Hong Kong Stock Exchange has granted a temporary waiver after the company's public float fell below the required 25% minimum following the close of an offer.

As of Sept. 11, 109.1 million shares, or about 23.66% of the company's issued share capital, were held by the public, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

The exchange granted the company a temporary waiver until Nov. 6, allowing it time to restore the required 25% public float.

The offeror plans to restore the required public float by selling shares in the open market. It will assess the outcome in October and may subsequently arrange a share placement to independent third parties if needed.

Carimin Petroleum Raises Stake in Sealink International to 25.3%

Carimin Petroleum (KLSE:CARIMIN) acquired a 5.8% stake in Sealink International (KLSE:SEALINK) for 9.9 million ringgit in cash, according to a Tuesday filing with Bursa Malaysia.The acquisition involved 29.1 million shares bought at 0.34 ringgit each, between Sept. 18 and Sept. 22.Following the acquisition, Carimin's stake in Sealink rose to 25.3% from 19.5%, making Sealink an associate company.Carimin Petroleum said the acquisition was part of its ongoing investment strategy.The deal was funded through internally generated funds and does not require shareholder or regulatory approval, the filing said.
