Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) confirmed the issue of $1.25 billion worth of subordinated fixed-to-fixed rate securities due Sept. 16, 2037, as part of its $50 billion senior and subordinated Medium Term Notes Program, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The issue of subordinated notes will not have a material impact on the bank's financial position, the filing said.
The notes will potentially exchange into ordinary shares of the bank if a non-viability trigger event takes place, per the filing.
