Cognex Introduces In-Sight 1750 to Improve Wafer Traceability

Cognex (CGNX) said Wednesday it launched the In-Sight 1750 Series wafer and panel identification system to help semiconductor manufacturers reduce disruptions, improve traceability and maintain throughput.

The system combines AI technology, advanced imaging and purpose-built illumination to overcome production challenges such as difficult to read wafer and panel markings, including degraded marks and challenging substrates, the company said.

Cognex said the In-Sight 1750 integrates with existing operations and supports upgrades, with features aimed at simplifying deployment and process control.

Cognex shares were down more than 2% in Wednesday trading.

Spire Global Wins $33.2 Million NOAA Contract for Satellite Weather Data

Spire Global (SPIR) won a $33.2 million contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to deliver global navigation satellite system radio occultation data to enhance weather forecasting.The data will feed NOAA's prediction models and support weather forecasting, space weather applications, and research by scientific organizations, Spire said Tuesday in a statement.The two-year contract, which starts Dec. 1, includes additional unfunded surge-buy options that may raise the total value to $66 million if fully exercised, the company said.Spire shares rose 2.2% in after-hours trading.
