Cochlear (ASX:COH) said its hearing implant systems will continue to be imported into the US duty-free after the US Government's final Section 301 investigation findings retained the tariff classification covering duty-free entry for hearing implants, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company said it will continue to monitor global tariff developments to support ongoing access to its implantable hearing solutions worldwide, per the filing.
The company said it is addressing the growing need for cochlear implants by working with stakeholders to raise awareness, strengthen policy support, and expand access to hearing loss interventions, noting that only about 5% of eligible people currently receive implants, the filing added.
