Coal India (BOM:533278, NSE:COALINDIA) will invest 2.22 million rupees in a rights issue of its renewable energy joint venture, CIL Rajasthan Akshay Urja, according to a Monday stock exchange filing.
The state-owned miner will subscribe to 222,000 equity shares at 10 rupees each, maintaining its 74% stake in the joint venture.
Partner Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Urja Nigam will subscribe to 78,000 shares.
The joint venture was incorporated in June 2025 to develop, construct and operate solar, wind and pumped storage power projects, and supply renewable power to distribution companies and other customers across India.
