Chubu Electric Power (TYO:9502) said Monday it appointed Minoru Yasui as president and representative director and chief executive officer, effective Oct. 1.
Yasui will succeed Kingo Hayashi at the Japanese electric utility company, who will retire on Sept. 30.
In a separate filing, the company said it submitted withdrawal applications to the Nuclear Regulation Authority for permits to amend reactor installation licenses for Units 3 and 4 of its Hamaoka nuclear power station.
The company said that it would not be appropriate to maintain the existing applications based on the investigation report raising doubts over the reliability of the application documents.
