A fire at a shoe factory in Jinjiang, Fujian, China killed at least 28 people on Thursday, Xinhua News Agency reported the same day, citing local authorities.
The fire hit the Huiteng Shoes factory at 12:04 p.m., according to the state-owned news agency.
Police arrested the owner and several other personnel said to be responsible for the blaze. Authorities also froze the company's accounts, Xinhua said.
