China's railway sector invested 511.8 billion yuan in fixed assets during the first eight months of 2026, up 1.5% year on year, state media Xinhua News reported Wednesday.
The China State Railway Group said key projects were advanced, including the opening of the Wenling-Yuhuan section of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou high-speed railway in Zhejiang.
China's operational rail network is targeted to hit 180,000 kilometers by 2030, including about 60,000 kilometers of high-speed rail.
