The Chinese government will set binding targets for the proportions of electric and non-electric energy that should be sourced from renewables, the National Development and Reform Commission said in a circular released Monday.
Chinese companies and provinces will be measured according to the percentages of renewable energy consumption every quarter, and non-compliant entities will be required to purchase green electricity certificates, among other guidelines.
