China's State Council has launched an investigation into a gas explosion at Shanxi Tongzhou Group's Liushenyu coal mine.
The probe will examine territorial management, industry oversight and corporate liability, with severe legal penalties promised, according to a Saturday news filing.
Authorities ordered all regions to review compliance with "eight hard measures" for mine safety, cracking down on hidden work zones, falsified monitoring, unclear crew counts and illegal subcontracting.
Qantas Airways' (ASX:QAN) "Project Sunrise," which envisages planned 22-hour non-stop flights from Australia's east coast to London and New York, was delayed after airplane manufacturer Airbus said the modified A350 aircrafts required for the journey were delayed due to supply chain issues, according to multiple media reports on Monday.The airline is now expected to take delivery of the new planes in April 2027.Qantas indicated it expects to have five such ultra long range aircrafts by November 2027, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.Qantas ordered 12 of the specially equipped A350s in May 2022. The first plane was originally to be delivered to the airline by the end of 2026.Qantas' shares soared 5% in recent Monday trade.
Real estate developer Puravankara (NSE:PURVA, BOM:532891) has acquired a 14.6-acre land parcel located in Bengaluru with a potential gross development value of around 23 billion Indian rupees, according to a Monday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.Of this total area, 7.92 acres are part of a joint development agreement, while the company has secured 6.65 acres.The total saleable area for the entire project is estimated at 1.8 million square feet. With this latest acquisition, Puravankara's total landbank of developable area in Bengaluru has increased to 25.61 mmillion square feet.
United Microelectronics (TPE:2303) acquired a batch of machinery and equipment worth about NT$1.03 billion from Tokyo Electron (TYO:8035), according to a Friday Taiwan Exchange filing.Shares of United Microelectronics jumped about 10%, while those of Tokyo Electron rose about 4% in Monday afternoon trade.The acquisition took place between May 27, 2025, and May 22, 2026, and the equipment will be used for production purposes.
