China Merchants Energy Shipping (SHA:601872) signed long-term charter agreements for five 84,500-deadweight-tonnage newbuild multipurpose vessels, comprising three from CMB Financial Leasing and two from China Merchants Leasing.
The three-year charter period includes options for four subsequent three-year renewals, with a total hire of about 721 million yuan, according to a weekend filing with the Shanghai bourse.
Shares of the fleet operator were up 4% in recent trade.
