Chinese electric passenger vehicle sales rose 23% year over year to about 1.5 million units in July as oil prices continue to rise due to the conflict in the Middle East, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association released Tuesday.
BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) logged the highest sales volume of 411,702 units during the month, followed by Geely Automobile (HKG:0175) at 158,145, and Chery Automobile (HKG:9973) at 122.082 units.
Zhejiang Leapmotor (HKG:9863) logged sales of 101,267 units, while Tesla came in at fifth with 93,759 units.
