China Innovation Investment (HKG:1217) said Hong Kong's High Court ruled in favor of the company, its chairman Xiang Xin and alternate director Kung Ching in a defamation case against Apple Daily's publisher.
The Court of First Instance of the High Court of Hong Kong found Apple Daily Limited and AD Internet liable for defamation over 10 articles published in November and December 2019 and ordered them to pay HK$1.5 million in damages, plus interest and legal costs, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong exchange filing.
The plaintiffs settled their claims against Lo Wai Kwong and dropped claims against four other defendants after court documents could not be served.
