China Health Appeals Chengde Court Ruling in Contract Dispute

By

China Health (HKG:0673) filed a civil appeal against a first-instance court ruling in its contract dispute with the People's Government of Shuangluan District, Chengde City, and a local hospital, according to a Monday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The dispute stems from a 2015 hospital cooperation agreement that was terminated in 2021. China Health sued to recover more than 59.1 million yuan in outstanding loans and interest.

In May, the Chengde Intermediate People's Court ordered the hospital to repay 46.5 million yuan in outstanding principal plus interest, but dismissed the company's remaining claims, including those against the district government.

China Health seeks to overturn the judgment, uphold all of its original claims, and require the defendants to bear the litigation costs in both instances.

The company said the appeal argues that the court erred in determining key facts, omitted crucial evidence and misapplied the law.
