China is set to expand withdrawal rules for its housing provident fund effective Sept. 20, Xinhua News Agency reported Tuesday, citing a decree by the State Council.
Beijing will remove the eligibility threshold for rent to exceed a prescribed portion of household income, the report said.
The decree will also allow for withdrawal of the provident fund for new purposes, including home renovations and paying property management fees, the report said.
