Charter Hall Group (ASX:CHC) entered into a new investment partnership with Japanese real estate group Tokyo Tatemono and UBS Asset Management for a portfolio of industrial and logistics assets across Australia's east coast with an end value of AU$1.2 billion, according to a Wednesday statement.
The portfolio includes three assets in Sydney, two in Brisbane, and a 20-hectare infill development site in Melbourne.
The assets are predominantly leased to major consumer staples customers, and the portfolio provides income underpinned by "strong covenants and exposure to Australia's essential consumer supply chains," the company said.
The transaction marks Tokyo Tatemono's first investment with Charter Hall and its first exposure to Australia's industrial and logistics sector.
Charter Hall Group said its industrial and logistics platform is now valued at AU$24.9 billion.
