Challenger Gold Appoints Chairman, COO, CFO

Challenger Gold (ASX:CEL) said Peter Marrone was appointed as non-executive chairman after securing shareholder approval at its extraordinary general meeting on July 27, succeeding Eduardo Elsztain, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

Yohann Bouchard was named as chief operating officer and Felipe Riquelme as chief financial officer, effective Aug. 10. Bouchard will also take the role of interim chief executive after Kris Knauer resigned.

In the same filing, the company said it completed the tranche 2 of an institutional placement to raise AU$46.5 million via the issue of around 19.4 million new shares and around 9.7 million options was completed on July 31. Marrone and other lead investors collectively subscribed for AU$10 million via the issue of around 4.2 million shares and around 2.1 million options. Marrone subscribed for AU$8 million.

The company also completed the issue of around 10 million shares under a share purchase agreement with Marrone and other lead investors for its acquisition of Blue Spruce Holdings (Australia), and the issue of an aggregate of 2.5 million concurrent share purchase agreement shares to Inversiones Financieras Del Sur and Dolphin Real Assets Fund, per the filing.

India's market regulator has proposed allowing real estate investment trusts (REITs) and publicly listed infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) to issue depository receipts, according to a consultation paper published on Tuesday.The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is proposing an enabling framework for the issuance of depository receipts backed by units of REITs and publicly listed InvITs.The regulator said the instruments would allow foreign investors to trade the securities in foreign currency on permitted international exchanges.SEBI proposed amending the REIT and InvIT regulations to permit such issuances and plans to introduce a detailed framework through a separate circular.Public comments on the consultation paper are invited until Aug. 25.

Helens International Forecasts Lower Net Profit in H1

Helens International (SGX:HLS, HKG:9869) expects to book a net profit of up to 16 million yuan, compared with an adjusted net profit of 50.3 million yuan a year earlier.Meanwhile, the company expects a revenue of up to 260 million yuan in the first half of the year, compared to 291.2 million yuan a year earlier, according to a Tuesday filing with the Singapore Exchange.The decrease in revenue is mainly due to a decline in the number of self-operated bars during the period.
