Certarus, a mobile compressed natural gas solutions provider, said on Wednesday that it was commissioning a new LNG supply hub in the southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah, after being awarded a contract to serve as the primary natural gas supplier for a 60 megawatt hyperscale data center project in the region.
According to a company press release, operations are set to begin this month, with gas supplies supporting the data center until permanent infrastructure is in place.
Dale Winger, company president, said that customers were being held back by infrastructure that was unable to keep up with the energy demand and that Certarus was providing "reliable energy to move valuable projects forward".
The company said its mobile compressed natural gas platform was well positioned to cater to the data center industry's needs, short-term or long-term.
