Contemporary Amperex Technology or CATL (SHE:300750, HKG:3750) issued 8 billion yuan worth of green technology bonds across two tranches, according to a weekend filing with the Shenzhen bourse.
The first tranche amounted to 7 billion yuan with a coupon rate of 1.52% and a five-year term, maturing July 24, 2031. The issuer retains the option to adjust the coupon rate at the end of the third year.
The second tranche was worth 1 billion yuan, carrying a coupon rate of 1.58% and a five-year term, also maturing on July 24, 2031.
Bank of China (SHA:601988, HKG:3988) served as the lead underwriter and bookrunner for the issuance.
The battery maker's Shenzhen shares jumped 4%, while its Hong Kong shares rose marginally Monday morning.
