Oil and gas explorer Caspian Sunrise (CASP.L) said Wednesday the deep well 707 at the Yelemes Deep structure on its BNG Contract Area in Kazakhstan was spudded.
The well will be drilled to a planned total depth of 3,500 meters to determine the size of the Lower Triassic T1 reservoir, improve the position of the oil-water contact, and review the hydrocarbon potential of the overlying Middle Jurassic section.
The December 2025 renewal of the license at the Yelemes Deep structure required drilling of three deep wells before the end of 2027 to be eligible to apply for a 25-year production license.
